Conservatives
Everybody has their own definition of what the word “conservative” means. For some people it means fat, white, rich, corrupt males who want to enslave everyone and destroy the planet. For me the word means those who want to hold on to the good traditions of the past while eschewing the bad. Yes, in a lot of ways I would like our government to be more like it was 200 years ago. That is, I’d like it to be smaller, less intrusive, less taxing, and less involved in our lives. No, I don’t want to reinstitute slavery. I’m not for abolishing our government, I’m for restoring it to a small entity that focuses on establishing justice, insuring domestic tranquility, providing for the common defense, promoting the general welfare, and securing the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, in their simplest definitions.
It’s not Rush, Hannity, or Beck. It’s either Dave Ramsey or Dr. Laura. Of course this is just my subjective opinion, but my definition of “effective” has to do with changing minds.
